Jane studied at the Royal Scottish Academy with Simon Fischer. She then joined the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, living in Glasgow for 4 years. She joined the CBSO in 2002 and plays Sub-Principal 1st Violin. Jane loves cooking, gardening and has recently taken up tap-dancing!

Mike studied with Roger Bigley and Yuko Inoue at the Royal Northern College of Music graduating in 1993. He pursued a freelance career working with orchestras across the north of England before accepting a position with the CBSO in 1996 where he is now Sub Principal Viola. In his spare time Mike enjoys spending time with his family and brewing and drinking his own beer!

Byron studied at Birmingham Conservatoire with Jeremy Ballard, graduating in 1993. Following further study with Peter Thomas, he enjoyed some years freelancing in the Midlands, with orchestras such as the CBSO, Birmingham Royal Ballet and D'Oyly Carte. He joined the CBSO's 2nd Violins in 1998. When not playing his violin he is a keen golfer and cricketer.

Kate studied at the Royal Academy of Music with David Strange, graduating in 1992 . She was then awarded a scholarship by the University of Southern California to study with Lynn Harrell and on her return appointed to the CBSO as a sub-principal.She has worked with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, and Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and recently was co-soloist in performances of the Vivaldi Double Cello Concerto at the Wigmore Hall and St Martin in the Fields.
